Dr Kravens And Code 62, "Holland’s Best Kept Secret", is ready to hit the clubcircuit!
For too long Urban/Funk music has been tortured with unoriginal run-of-the-mill compositions and artists.
The multi-instrumentalist, composer and Master of Ceremonies Dr Kravens and his Live Band "Code 62" are now ready to bring a fresh, exciting and Original sound to the Genre.
So whats different?
We use no samples or DJ, not for the beat, not for the bass, not for the synths, Nada.
All intruments are played live or vocalised.
Furthermore, Code 62 is A poineer of a new form of MCing call "box-rapping" combining beatbox, vocal scratch and rap between the two vocalists..
Who is Code 62?
Line-up:
Dr Kravens (Eduard Aerssens): Vocals, Beatbox
Moccah (Mitchell Thomassen): Beatbox, Vocals
Inspired by composers such as Dr Dre and Timbaland, and rappers such as B-Real (Cypress Hill), Biggie Smalls and Big Proof, A singularly epic sound was created.By Dr Kravens and Stefan Prein using a cheap Midi Keyboard and sequencing software in our living rooms.
Imagine "ear candy" beats with familiar drum patterns, combined with groovy, infectious Bass lines.
Got it? Good! Now throw in catchy licks (aka hooks) Plus Stupendous lyricism, and you get the phenomenon that is Dr Kravens.
Publishing the Songs on the Internet (unpromoted) quickly led to a few viral accomplishments:
200 000+ views on the youtube video for "GTA RAP"
50,000+ total page views on Soundclick internet Charts (top ten chart hit with the song "turn the page")
Bloggers have described the music as "taking them back to the 'golden' age of rap in the Nineties when 2pac Shakur and Biggie Smalls perfected the art of rhyme.
Code 62 Bio/History
Code 62 was Formed in 2009 with session musicians as a "'proof of concept" of live performance.
In 2010 Dr Kravens wanted to reform the act into a steady crew of passionate Funkateers. And promptly Proceeded to do so!
Moccah (Mitchell Thomassen) has been retained as a vocalist, and his Talent as a vocalist is the cornerstone of the Code 62 Sound.
Stefan Prein has been retained as a composer for Code 62, responsible for melodies in composition, Hes the icing on the cake that is Code 62
Background:
Being "Holland’s Best Kept Secret" the only Major venues blessed with a visit from Code 62 are the "Fenix" (Sittard) and “Muziekgieterij”(Maastricht). both performances were well recieved, and Code 62 is the Darling of the Provincial Radio station (L1) with lots of airplay.
